About Us

Hey y'all — we're Clint Decker and Tracie Luther, the husband-and-wife team behind Cloud Cottage Creative Company.

Our story lives between two landscapes

We spent years in Sarasota, Florida, where Tracie studied fine art at Ringling College of Art and Design, earning her Bachelor's degree and developing a deep love for watercolor as a medium. Life along the coast shaped her eye — soft light, open skies, movement, and color all found their way into her work.

Today we call the mountains of North Carolina home. Here the pace is slower, the air is quieter, and inspiration comes from misty mornings, wooded trails, and the grounded stillness of mountain life. That contrast — between ocean and mountain, motion and calm — has become the foundation of our art.

Everything starts as an original painting

At Cloud Cottage Creative Company, every design begins as an original watercolor painting, created by hand. The originals stay one of a kind, and some are finished and framed here, ready to hang.

From those paintings come fine art prints — archival, matted, and sealed in a clear sleeve to fit a standard frame — along with greeting cards and stickers, so the artwork can be enjoyed in everyday spaces: on walls, notebooks, laptops, and in the small moments that deserve beauty.

Tracie leads the creative vision, painting each piece with intention and emotion. Clint supports the process behind the scenes, helping bring the artwork into the world through careful production, presentation, and storytelling. Together we focus on quality over quantity, and on art that feels personal, timeless, and rooted in place.

Where we work

We live and work in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Everything is painted, packed and shipped from our studio at home, at the foot of the same ridgelines that keep turning up in the artwork. There's no storefront to visit these days — orders are online, and they go out from here.

We also keep a small charitable habit. One candle in the shop isn't really ours: we set it aside and give away what it earns. You can read why we do that and where the money goes.

What we believe

Our work is inspired by ocean air and mountain stillness, by a life shaped by both salt and stone. We believe art should feel lived-in, meaningful, and accessible — something that brings calm, warmth, and connection wherever it lands.
